THE CLASSICAL MALE BEAUTY IDEAL
WHOSE BODY PROPORTIONS ARE PERFECT

OVER the centuries, Antinous became the icon of Classical male beauty ... the measurements of the Antinous statues served as a guide for male perfection in many 18th and 19th Century art instruction books.

These etchings showing the exact proportions of the body of Antinous are from "The Artist's Repository" Published 1795-1813 in London by Charles Taylor.

The plates are in the Crayon Manner and printed in brown ink.
